13.06.1907 Establishing a Printing house by the Priest of Bodelschwingh as a company of von Bodelschwingh authorities. It printed publications of Bodelschwingh authorities and other brochures and advertising folders of evangelical church. Prospekte der evangelischen Kirche. At the opening the „father“ said: “Everything that is connected to words and labour is in Jesus name”. Wilhelm Gieseking was the manager of the company.
1937 Establishment of the publishing house »Deutschen Heimatverlages« by his son Ernst Gieseking. First publications were dedicated to „National Literature“ / »Heimatliteratur« - young German revelations that only could publish their works by Selbstverlag (underground press). More “age-experienced’ series as »Ränzlein«, »Freudenborn« and »Wanderklaus« were launched, but „Youth and Motherland“ »Jugend und Heimat« fellowship continued to be published (which started even in 1923 in the publishing house of Bodelschwingh authorities.
1942 Ernst Gieseking buys the Publishing House from Bodelschwingh authorities.
1947 His brother Werner Gieseking becomes a companion in »Deutschen Heimatverlag«. The name of the House changed to »Verlag Ernst und Werner Gieseking«. Here is the point when the continuous breakaway from national literature starts. The undertaking of legal literature developed itself in specialization on legal field in the next years.
1950 Implementation of flat printing machine with Palatia-Machines (Albert/Frankenthal). Specialization field: packaging print on Hard-PVC-Films for margarine, yogurt, ice cream cones from synthetics.
1960 Moving to a new Publishing House building on Deckertstraße in Bielefeld-Gadderbaum. Installation of first Offset printing machine (Perle of Color Metal/Switzerland). During the next years the creation of the Offset Department and at the same time the reducing the Book Print department.
1965 First image matter device »Diatype«.
1976 Ernst Gieseking dies. His son Christian Gieseking undertakes the management of the Company and inherits 50% of company’s share »Ernst und Werner Gieseking«. First 4-colour Offset Machine by Roland Ultra.
1977 Tape operated Image matter »Compstar« with correction possibility by tape sticking, Varicomposer type.
1980 CRT-Image matter machine Linotype System 3.
1982 Gieseking does not print monotype anymore.
1983 Installation of the first »Roland 800«.
1988 The reorganization of a private company into a GmbH /OJSC type. First 5-Colour-Machines »Planeta Varimat«.
1989 Three DTP-working terminals Ventura Publisher/PageManager
1990 First Apple Macintosh.
1991 Image processing in B/W separation. Sheet intaglio Printing.
1993 Laser-Film Display Linotype Hercules. After Werner Gieseking dies Dr.Otto Schmidt KG gets 50% of the Company share in »Verlag Ernst und Werner Gieseking GmbH«.
1996 Image processing with Topaz, Macintosh and Photoshop.
1997 Installation of 3B2-Matter systems on PC-Basis. Gieseking in Internet.
1998 Implementation of SGML for neutral data registration. Creation and maintanance of data bases. Launching new departments: System integration media and print.
1999 Basis for the System integration of Gieseking and Grunzig GmbH. General Management represented by: Christian Giesking and Peter Grunzig, holding 50%-share of the company each.
2000 »Roland 905« with Integrated Coating Tower and Digital Machine control. Film display device manufactured by Fuji »Luxel F-9000« (8 pages of DIN A4) with Online-Design.
2001 »Roland 904« with Integrated Coating Tower and Digital Machine control.
2002 Premium partnership - eggheads cms GmbH and System integration GmbH. Implementation of Crossmedia Integrator "cmi24" for Media Publications distribution.
2003 First edition of Corporate Publishing Newsletters "pingPONG" CrossMedia Infotag in A2 Forum / Rheda-Wiedenbrück. Installation of CTP-Displays "LüscherXPose! 160" (7th Format)
2004 Reorganization of the Enterprise into a GmbH & Co. KG
2005 Certification as the 2nd Enterprise according to DIN ISO 12647-2 Process Standard Offsetprint in Westfalen-Lippe.
2006 Conferment of the Award “Innovationspreis der Druckindustrie 2006” for our Customers Newsletter „PingPONG“.
